Xmas In The Sun

Today they put up the giant Santa and Rudolph near my work. It's still very odd what with it being warm and sunny and seeing all this xmas stuff. Hope it's not too cold for you northern hemispherians!

Just watched an articulated lorry (one with 2 trailers) make a perfect 3-point turn out the front of the house, man that would have taken the average british driver about 10 attempts! Poetry in motion... and no i'm not bored!

Show Day

It's Show Day here in Canterbury and also the Canterbury Anniversary today. It's a local holiday but I is working :(
Basically the big day at the races and show, lets hope it's nice and quiet at work, a fair few places in the city are closed so it's possible!
Will have a look for a cheapy camera today so i can get some photos up.

L4D

For those asking for pictures, I don't have a camera with me so if I find a cheap one somewhere I shall oblige.
Had a great day off today, woke up naturally (no alarm clock), spoke to my wifey on skype then cruised into the city. Got my Metro Card which is like an Oyster card in the U.K so I can use public transport nice and cheaply. Wandered around for a bit and found a place called C4 Coffee. It's the shnizzle! Indie roastery with a coffee bar and tons of machines for sale. Sat and had a few ristretto macs and got some fresh ground coffee for home. I think I am going to try and get a job there.
Then I had the joy of grocery shopping at Pac'n'Save (like a big KwikSave), then lugging everything back home on the bus where the shopping bags decided to split as I was getting off. Oh the joy.
Had a little afternoon nap too, then the Rooshster came to visit.... what a cutie!

Ah The Sun

I finally get to enjoy a couple of days in the sun. I have been working non stop since I got here and was starting to feel a little tired, but now I have 2 days off!
It is Cup & Show Week here which is like Royal Ascott and then some! Lots of ladies in stupid hats and gents in tweed! It's very exciting and the atmosphere in the city is great, plus its nice and warm to boot.
Going to sleep in tomorrow for the first time since I've been here, and if you know me, thats a long time to go without a lie-in!

Summer!

It's been a lovely day here today, 23C and set to continiue for the week. Hopefully it will hold until Wednesday/Thursday as they are my days off!

Whats Been Happenning

I thought I'd scrap the idea of updating from my diary as it would seem disjointed so here's what's been going on!
I've been working at the coffee shop for a week now and it seems to be going well, nice customers, nice staff so hopefully that will continue.
I ended up going on an out of the way bus route the other day, the walk from work to home takes about 15 mins and I was feeling lazy so thought I would try out some public transport. Got on a bus and asked the driver if he went to Edgeware Shops which is a hop and a skip from home, he replied yes and on I got!
About 45 minutes later we were at the end of the line and he ribbed me for not letting him know where I wanted to get off, stupid tourist pom, so after a quick conversation he let me know when to get off. When we get to his chosen stop I'm like, this is not Edgeware but I'm not gonna argue with the guy, then he chirps up "Oh I've got the shops mixed up, I don't go to Edgeware" *facepalm*
So on the way back to the EXACT SPOT I got on the bus we get chatting and turns out he's just got back from MILTON KEYNES driving buses for 6 years!! What are the odds?! (seriously though Bromley, if you could get to work on the calculations). He then offered to drive me home in his freakin Bentley! I declined as by now I just wanted to be home and it would have meant taking the same bus route again and then back to the depot, so I got off about an hour and a half after leaving work.... right at the bottom of the escalators that lead up to where I work! Bum.

Sorry for the lack of posts, I've been real busy with work BUT tomorrow my internet connection will happen and I will spend the evening updating this blog. I have been writing a diary so I will copy all of that to individual posts...... betcha can't wait!
